He tikanga mātātuhi, ina ka tāngia he ata ki tētahi papa (i te nuinga o te wā, he papa konukura, konutea rānei), ka uhia ki te waituhi, kātahi ka mukua. Ka noho tonu te waituhi ki roto i ngā awaawa, ā, ka whakawhitia ērā ki te pepa.
A printing technique where a surface is incised or etched (usually copper or zinc), covered with ink and then wiped clean. The ink remains in the incised grooves, and is then transferred to the paper.
