WhakamĀrama Āpitihanga

A toy or a figure that is used in performing arts. Most often they are in the image of a person and are made to move by pulling on strings which are attached to its arms. There are many other types of puppets across the world, for example a sock puppet where a puppeteer’s hand makes the puppet's movements.
